Corporate Information
In the year 2002, Hillel and Wayne worked at a car audio distribution company together. They each had a client base, comprising of automotive fitment centres, which they needed to take care of. Whilst walking this career path they spotted the gap in the market and the need for quality car audio at an affordable price for the end user.
Backed by their extensive knowledge and experience in this field, their entrepreneurial flame was sparked – and so, in the year 2005 Watt Audio was born. Watt Audio started off as South Africa’s first distributor of superior car audio brands, Vibe and Fli.
Having built strong relationships and connecting with automotive fitment centres in the industry over the years, Hillel and Wayne had a strong understanding of what key elements their clients needed in order to grow and sustain their businesses. Automotive safety and security products is what the market was looking for.
In 2007 the partners started their new venture and opened up Lamin8 Window Film’s doors. As a separate entity, Lamin8 wished to serve the automotive industry with top class service-backed safety and security films used to protect occupants of a vehicle from the dangers of smash and grab attacks as well as the implications of shattered glass in the event of unforeseen circumstances such as accidents.
Since Lamin8’s mission was to serve their industry (as well as other product aligned industries) with innovation, their product range grew to include automotive paint protection and architectural (flat glass) window film.
